AB Mrija is the Ukrainian subsidiary of Utenos Trikotažas. The company was purchased in 2005 in order to raise the capacity and manage the increasing costs. Upon assembly of advanced equipment Mrija started the production process analogous to that of Utenos Trikotažas, that is, the complete product production cycle including production and dyeing of knitwear and production of knitwear articles.

In total, approximately 17.3 million litas were invested in Mrija in order to restore the production cycle and achieve the present-day level. However, this constitutes just a part of the long-term investment plan. Upon implementation of the entire production cycle, it is planned to increase the company’s efficiency. As much as one half of the articles produced by Mrija will be made from the knitwear produced at the factory.
